This exhibition aims at showing in the highest available quality the 19th and 20th century masterpieces by Czech painting giants who were inspired by these two intersecting styles either fleetingly in their young age (Jan Honsa, František Kupka, František Kaván, Antonín Slavíček, František Tavík Šimon) or became authors for whom Art Nouveau and Symbolism were the essential means for expressing their artistic opinions and desires (Alfons Mucha, Jan Preisler, Maximilián Pirner, Jakub Schikaneder).
