In a house on Teréza Nováková street, which once belonged to the Portmans, you will find the monumental work of Josef Váchal in the years 1920-1924. For his friend Josef Portman this extraordinary artist painted rooms and carved and painted furniture. This exhibition will introduce you to the lives of both men, their interesting fates, but also the modern history of the house. This unique monument of European significance is worth seeing! In the exhibition hall you can see the exhibit of Josef Váchal’s Cestopisák. In the garden house there is installed the Camera obscura by Mark Volf and Ales Hvízdala offering an unusual view of the museum garden, while in front of the house Redfish by Vanesa Trostová stands guard and in the garden there is the sculpture Ducis by Jiří Janočko.
