The tradition of collecting 19th century Czech art is still very much alive, which the exhibition The Magic of Tradition illustrates. This exhibition attempts to present the visitor a comprehensive overview of 19th century Czech art through the eyes of a collector of works on paper. The exhibition presents a majority of some of the most important individuals of 19th century Czech art such as Josef Mánes, Jaroslav Čermák, Mikoláš Aleš, Vojtěch Hynais, Luděk Marold, and also well represented is the Litomyšl native Jukius Mařák. The complete selection of authors is considerably extensive; on view are more than one hundred works, of which many belong to the best of 19th century Czech drawing.
